Yesterday, Dec. 31, I cleaned part of the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park, covering the area from approx. the Ashbury walkway down to Masonic. It really needed it. It took me about an hour and I picked up a good 20 lbs of waste. I was tired when I finished, but the place looked a great deal better. People who saw what I was doing commented with "thank yous". If a few of us in our community could do this every weekend, I think our Haight/Ashbury district would greatly benefit. jdt
