On Sunday, Dec. 17th I took a plastic garbage bag and worked Ashbury St. starting at Haight and moving south up the hill. Sunday mornings are pretty messy, especially between Haight and Waller. I picked up a bag full in about 15 mintues---way more than ten pieces. I felt good doing it. It still looked pretty good this afternoon (Monday afternoon). On Sunday I was joined by a person whom I did not know, but who lived nearby in an apartment. She said "this is a great idea" and pitched in and helped. It would be great if this periodic cleaning would become infectious and spread through us denizens of the neighborhood. I think it is a possibility with continued effort.
